Other Plants demonstrates the forgotten beauty and utility in withering and decomposing plants an vegetables, mainly from my extensive home garden. Dry and faded flowers, leaves, and stems, exhibit color and texture photographed with studio lighting, natural light, and tea candles. Working to establish a sustainable garden, many of the flowers, vegetables, and other plants are left to decompose over the winter, leaving seeds to be planted the following year. As with the sunflower and hops photograph, some plants are left in the garden for birds, rabbits, and other animals to eat during the winter and spring, when food sources are scarce.
