I will have my final MA portfolio review on 15 December, and have just received my portfolio box. Over the next week I will begin printing all of my photographs and other material for submission.
I have decided to print my photograph in black and white on 11 x 17 inch Hahnemuhle FineArt Baryta Satin. My printer is an Epson SC P800, which prints fairly quick and is accurate using the Epson Advanced Black and White settings rather than the papers icc profile.
My choice of a Satin rather than Matte paper allows the surface of the paper to obtain damage with use, and not mounting the paper allows the paper to be manipulated or bent, to see surface features of the paper and scene itself, seeing the damage to the environment and the paper. The subject is the environment that is not static, and I do not want the photographs to be static when they are handled during viewing.
